Profile of Nanchang University

Nanchang University is located in Nanchang, known as "a city of heroes" and a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a university included in China's "double first-class" program and a university engaged in the construction of world-class disciplines. It is also the only key university in Jiangxi Province that is included China's Project 211. Built jointly by the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province, it is a high-level university under overall construction in Jiangxi Province.

Positions for high-level talents and recruitment conditions

 

(I) Outstanding talents    

1. Requirements for candidates: with strong academic leadership, pioneering work achievements recognized by peers at home and abroad, and prominent academic contributions in the research field; experienced in organizing and planning important scientific research plans and projects; with an outstanding overall planning ability in the research on major strategic economic and social development issues; with strategic scientists’ planning ability in terms of discipline construction and scientific research; able to lead relevant discipline groups to reach or surpass the domestic leading level and international advanced level.   

2. Benefits for candidates: pre-tax annual salary of RMB 1,800,000-2,000,000; house purchase allowance and settling-in allowance of no less than RMB 5,000,000; research grants (different for each candidate); and necessary working conditions, academic teams and research assistants.   

 

(II) Discipline leading talents

1. Requirements for candidates: with a strong team organization ability; have made influential work achievements that are domestically leading or have reached the world advanced level or have made good academic achievements in the discipline; with active academic thinking and the ability to become a discipline leader in relevant fields; with creative ideas for discipline development and able to lead the discipline to keep ahead of domestic peers and reach a domestic leading level and international advanced level.   

2. Benefits for candidates: pre-tax annual salary of RMB 800,000-1,200,000; house purchase allowance and settling-in allowance of no less than RMB 1,800,000; research grants (different for each candidate); and necessary working conditions, academic teams and research assistants

 

(III) Academic leaders    

1. Requirements for candidates: with a strong team organization ability; have made important representative achievements in the direction of the discipline (specialty); with good academic competitiveness and great development potential; able to do a good job in discipline-oriented development planning; with innovative ideas for discipline construction and academic research work.    

2. Benefits for candidates: pre-tax annual salary of RMB 500,000-800,000; house purchase allowance and settling-in allowance of RMB 1,000,000-1,800,000; and research grants (different for each candidate).  

 

(IV) Excellent discipline talents    

1. Requirements for candidates: with a strong academic ability; have made influential representative achievements in the discipline; with development potential and innovative ideas for discipline construction; have the potential to support the discipline to maintain or reach the domestic advanced level.    

2. Benefits for candidates: pre-tax annual salary of RMB 300,000-500,000; house purchase allowance and settling-in allowance of RMB 500,000-1,000,000; and research grants (different for each candidate).

 

Other working and living conditions:    

In addition to the abovementioned benefits, the university will also provide a set of relocation housing for each talent and offer a job opportunity to each talent’s spouse. In case of failure to arrange such job in practice, the university will provide lump-sum living allowances. The university will also provide high-quality education resources, ranging from kindergartens to high schools, for the children of talents. The university’s affiliated third-class grade-A hospital will offer high-quality medical services.   

 

Talent policies in Nanchang: a lump-sum living allowance (for employment, settlement, and house lease) of RMB 50,000 will be paid to each doctoral candidate. RMB 1,000 will be paid as residence registration reward to those who have their residence registered in Nanchang (including collective household) for the first time.

 

 

Positions for excellent doctoral talents and recruitment conditions 

 

Notes to the conditions for the above positions: 

1.Generally, a candidate should have been awarded a master's degree, a doctor's degree or a senior professional title by a high-level university, research institute, or overseas well-known university, with an excellent education background at all stages. Candidate’s major should be similar or related to the major required. For those with an international perspective and particularly outstanding work performance, the requirements may be relaxed appropriately.  

2.Unless otherwise specified, a doctoral candidate should be, in principle, under 32 years old if he/she majored in Science, Engineering or Medicine in university, or under 35 years old if he/she majored in Humanities or Social Sciences in university. For those with particularly outstanding work performance, the age requirement may be appropriately relaxed to 45 years old.

 

How to apply for a position

1. Application period: from now until December 31, 2022 when all the positions are filled.

2. How to apply for a position: anyone who is interested in applying for a position should log in the recruitment system [http://zpjob.acabridge.cn/school/526 (Academic Bridge)] on the website of Personnel Division of Nanchang University to submit an application. Register your personal account first, and then select a target position and submit your resume and supporting materials (including basic information, education, work experience and work performance, etc.).

3. Points for attention: 

(1) an applicant should put all application documents, including resume and work performance documents, into a RAR file with a size of no more than 5M and then upload it to the system;

(2) if you intend to e-mail your application documents, you may send them to the e-mail address of the Personnel Division (the e-mail address is attached). Submission requirements: in the subject and attachments of the e-mail, please specify your school, name and education level, major, target employer and position (for example: XX University + Dr. Wang XX + major: Chinese language and literature + apply for the position of teacher of the School of Humanities); 

(3) each applicant should fill out and submit relevant documents carefully and truthfully and assume the responsibility for the consequences caused due to providing false information.

Assessment

The employer will assess each candidate in one or more forms of assessment, such as written exam, interview, giving a lesson, and professional skill operation test, as needed. The best candidates will be employed. The date and place of assessment will be notified additionally by the employer.

Health Examination

1. According to assessment results, candidates of the same number as the number of positions available will be chosen to receive health examination.

2. The health examination will be conducted at the location designated by the university in accordance with the Measures of Jiangxi Province for Physical Examination of Applicants Applying for Serving as a Teacher (Revision) (G. J. G. Zi [2021] No. 3) and relevant regulations of the university.

3. Psychological test: candidates should be physically and mentally healthy.

Publicity

1. The employer will publicize each candidate’s profile, including basic information and target position, within the range of the employer. The publicity period is one week.

2. The employer will submit each candidate’s application documents, assessment documents, ideological, political and business ability investigation and publicity documents, and review opinions and documents of the party-government joint meeting or the leaders’ meeting to the Personnel Division. After such documents are approved at the meeting of the Personnel Division, they will be publicized for three days in the university (including ideological, political and business ability investigation documents).

Employment

1. After a candidate is found eligible through assessment and health examination and nobody raises an objection during the publicity period, relevant employment procedures will be handled upon approval by the university.  

2. New employees employed by the university through open recruitment may be transferred to or employed by the university as staff of public institutions and included in the regular employees of the university if they comply with the university’s regulations.
